Today’s Special is our Black Hills Spruce. These are growing in quart containers as pictured above for $5.40 each. A geographical variant of White Spruce. Slower growing, shorter, and more dense and narrow than the species. Needles are bluish-green. Prefers full sun but will tolerate light shade. Tolerant of many soil types. The small size and dense habit makes this species a great specimen, hedge or windbreak. Seed source: Black Hills of South Dakota. Grows to 20 to 40 feet tall. Zones 3 to 6.
