Easily grown in average, medium moisture, well-drained soils in full sun to part shade. Best flower production is in full sun. It is a vigorous flowering shrub that is noted for its bright yellow spring flowers, dark green foliage, upright-spreading growth and free-branching habit. It typically grows 3-6′ tall and as wide. Single, axillary, funnelform, golden yellow flowers cover the shrub with bloom in late winter to early spring before the foliage appears. Flowers are slightly fragrant. It is one of the earliest blooming shrubs… a true harbinger of spring. Elliptic leaves (to 3 1/2″ long) are dark green. U. S. Plant Patent PP19,321 was issued on October 14, 2008. Zones 5 to 8.
