‘Gold Strike’ is a sedge cultivar that is ornamentally grown in part shade areas for its arching, variegated foliage. It typically grows in a grass-like clump to 10-18″ tall. Narrow leaves (typically 10-15″ long by 1/4″ wide) are creamy gold in the center with thin green edges. Insignificant brownish flower spikes appear on triangular stems in spring. This sedge is evergreen in the deep South, maintaining good foliage in both summer and winter. Zones 5 to 9.
