Today’s Special is our Colorado Blue Spruce. These are growing in 3 inch containers and are 9 to 16 inches tall for $5.20 each.

About Picea pungens:   A broad, dense pyramidal tree with stiff, horizontal branches. Plants are propagated from seed so the color varies. We grow the Kiabab strain. This is one of the most popular strains for its uniform growth and high percentage of blue plants. Other strains may produce small numbers of highly colored silver plants. This strain has a medium growth rate with well spaced branches that make superior specimens. Grow in full sun and rich moist, well drained soil. Plants are very adaptable to a wide range of soil types in the landscape. A great urban tree. Grows to 40 to 60 feet tall.  Zones 5 to 9.
