With fall knocking on your door…it is time to start planting your hollies and other ornamental plants for the spring. We always propagate our hollies the week after Labor Day.

Today’s Special is our Dragon Lady Holly. These are growing in 2.5 inch containers and are 6 to 10 inches tall with a well-formed root system and nicely branched for $4.25 each.

About: Ilex x Aquip. ‘Dragon Lady’:  This plant has a distinct pyramidal-columnar form It has large red berries, purple stems and dark green foliage. Leaves are small, glossy and spiny. Needs rich, slightly acidic soil. ‘Blue Stallion’ makes an effective pollinator. Less cold hardy than the ‘Blue’ or ‘China’ varities. -5 to -10 degrees Farenheit will cause some leaf damage. Grows to 15 feet tall and 8 feet wide. Zones 5 to 9.
